"At about 3:45 p.m. Private Stephan Williams, age 49 of Chevy Chase Fire Department, while fighting fire inside of White Tower Restaurant, at Silver Spring, Md was overcome by smoke and was taken to Washington Sanitarium Hospital by Silver Spring Fire Rescue Squad. On arrival at hospital he was treated by Dr. John T. Brownsburger, and died while being treated from an acute heart attack."
