At 02:53 hours, LaVale VFD was dispatched for a reported motor vehicle accident on National Highway. LaVale members, including Assistant Chief Christopher Pryor, arrived to the station and responded with Engine Tanker 2 and Engine Rescue 2. Units cleared the incident at 04:20 and returned to quarters. Assistant Chief Pryor went home and advised his wife, Kimberly, that he was having chest pains. Kimberly drove him to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center where upon entering the Emergency Department Chris collapsed having suffered cardiac arrest. All resuscitative efforts were unsuccessful. Assistant Chief Pryor was a 3rd-generation volunteer and very dedicated active member of the LaVale VFD. Through the years he held numerous offices including President & Chief. **"He pretty much ran every call & worked every fundraiser." Assistant Chief Christopher Pryor was 45 years old and had served 16 years.
