TUCKER, Waters F.

Assistant Chief Waters Tucker was coupling hoses in preparation to fight a working boat fire at Woodfield's Fish and Oyster Company in Galesville when he suffered a massive heart attack. Assistant Chief Tucker was transported to Anne Arundel County Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. In the early 1920's, Waters Tucker began volunteering at the Rescue Hose Company in Annapolis. He then moved to Galesville, joined the Galesville VFC ,and for the next 4+ decades served in many positions, including several years as Chief. Assistant Chief Waters Francis Tucker was 70 years old and had faithfully served the citizens of Anne Arundel County for 53 years.
