MCBRIDE, John
Assigned to Engine Co. No. 4 - Responded to fire in carpenter shop. After fire was extinguished, heavy chimney fell forcing front wall out carrying men of Engine 1 and Engine 4 into the cellar. Pipeman McBride was fatally injured when timber from the collapsing building broke his neck.
