KUPIDLOWSKI, Adam

On April 18, 1953 Box 23 sounded at 5:46p.m. for trash burning inside a vacant dwelling. While responding to the call, Salvage Corps Wagon No.2 and Engine Co. No. 34 collided full force at Baltimore & Caroline Streets. Regularman Adam Kupidlowski (SCWNo2) was hurled from the unit, landed on the concrete pavement, and was rendered unconscious. He was transported to Mercy Hospital where he lay unconscious for nearly 2 years before being relocated to the Armacost Nursing Home where he remained unconscious until his death on July 6, 1957. Regularman Adam Kupidlowski, a Veteran of WWII, was 45 years old and had served with the Salvage corps for 6 years.
