RINALDO, DILLON J.

Honoring & Remembering Maryland Fallen Heroes

Baltimore City Fire Department ~ Baltimore ~ Maryland

On the afternoon of October 19, 2023, at approximately 3:42 pm, Box alarm 46-40 was dispatched for a report of a dwelling fire in the 5200 block of Linden Heights Avenue in West Baltimore.  Units arrived on the scene to find a two-story middle of the group dwelling with heavy fire conditions.

One of the first arriving units was Engine Company #29 of which Lieutenant Dillon J. Rinaldo was working.  While courageously battling this raging fire, Lieutenant Rinaldo suffered severe injuries and was emergently transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital-Bayview for further treatment and care. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries on October 24, 2023.

The BCFD posthumously promoted Lieutenant Rinaldo to the rank of Captain.

Captain Rinaldo’s tenacious efforts in the execution of his duties will forever remain in the hearts of the members of the Baltimore City Fire Department.

Dillion Rinaldo was born into a fire department family and, prior to being hired by the BCFD,  served 6 years volunteering for the Fair Lawn Fire Department in his home town of Fair Lawn, New Jersey.

Captain Dillon John Rinaldo was 26 years old and had served the citizens of Baltimore for 6 years.
