BORNMAN, Connie

Firefighter/EMT Connie Bornman responded to her 6th call of the day, a patient having chest pains in the 1100 block of Old Eastern Avenue. While on scene and assisting with patient care, Connie told colleagues that she wasn't feeling well due to the hot day and went out to rest in the air-conditioned ambulance. A fellow firefighter went to check on her and found Connie unresponsive, having suffered a cardiac arrest. Despite efforts at the scene, in the ambulance, and at the hospital, Firefighter/EMT Bornman died of a heart attack. Firefighter/EMT Connie C. Bornman, age 56, had served for 4 years and was the first Baltimore County female firefighter to die in the Line of Duty.
