KIRCHNER, Gene M.
At approximately 01:00 hours on April 24, 2013, stations were alerted for Baltimore County Fire /Rescue Box 41-20, a reported dwelling fire with people trapped, that eventually went to 3 alarms. While performing search and rescue, Firefighter/EMT Gene M. Kirchner, was critically injured as he searched for a victim reported to be trapped on the second floor of the dwelling. Gene was transported to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, and 8 days later, on May 2, 2013 , he died from his injuries. Gene was an active member of the Reisterstown Volunteer Fire Company for 11 years, having joined as a junior at age 14. Firefighter /EMT Gene Meir Kirchner was 25 years old.
