RASKIN, Daniel J.
On July 9, 1990, Fire Lieutenant Daniel J. Raskin was at the front of the fire engine, pumping water to the scene of a barn fire, when the 6-inch intake elbow blew off the engine, striking Lieutenant Raskin full force in the chest, the impact knocking off his helmet, and as he was falling to the ground, the intake elbow then struck him in the back of the head, resulting in severe head trauma that rendered him unconscious. Lieutenant Daniel J. Raskin died as a result of his injuries at Maryland Shock Trauma on July 16, 1990.
