SEITZ, Monroe
Firefighter Monroe Seitz was first to the scene of a truck fire on Gwynn Brook Avenue near Owings Mill Road. Firefighter Seitz was attempting to extinguish the fire when the gasoline tank exploded. His gasoline-soaked clothing ablaze, Seitz was severely burned from head to toe. He was transported to University Hospital where he died shortly after arriving. Firefighter Monroe Seitz was 18 years old. Number of years served is unknown at this time.
