ECKHARDT, Jr. Henry W.

On December 5, 2021 Reisterstown Volunteer Fire Company Firefighter/EVO Henry W. Eckhardt passed away from cancer he developed as a result of an occupational exposure during a 5 alarm building fire on March 28, 1990 in Owings Mills. Firefighter Eckhardt joined the Reisterstown Volunteer Fire Company in 1983 as an active member, serving in many capacities, and being a Top 10 responder for many years. He was a dedicated and well-respected member of the Reisterstown Volunteer Fire Company and served his community with pride. Firefighter Eckhardt had previously been a member of the Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy where he served 3 tours in Vietnam War and served aboard the Henry B. Wilson, the U.S.S. Ticonderoga, and was involved in the retrieval of Apollo 16. Firefighter/EVO Henry Walter Eckhardt, Jr. was 72 years old and served the citizens of Maryland as part of the Fire-Rescue service for over 40 years.
