JONES, Robert A.
In December 2021, while working as a Paramedic/Firefighter for the newly formed Carroll County Department of Fire & EMS at the Reese & Community Volunteer Fire Company;Paramedic/Firefighter Robert A. ”Bobby” Jones contracted COVID-19 while performing his duties serving the citizens of Carroll County. After a hard fight and multiple virus related complications , PM/FF Jones passed away on January 20, 2022.Bobby Jones became part of the Maryland Fire/EMS family when he joined the Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Company in 1978.He became a Baltimore County Fire Department career firefighter/paramedic in 1982 , where he would earn the rank of Fire Lieutenant before retiring from the county in 2013.Bobby started working as a part-time paid Paramedic/Firefighter/Engineer for Reese & Community VFC in the late 1980’s.He was a member of Lansdowne VFC for several years before joining the Cape St.Claire Volunteer Fire Company in 2013 where he served as a driver/firefighter and was promoted to Lieutenant in May of 2021.Bobby’s is the first Line Of Duty Death for the Carroll County Department of Fire & EMS, for Reese Community VFC, and for IAFF Local 5184He will long be remembered for his kindness, compassion, & dedication.Paramedic/Firefighter Robert Anthony “Bobby” Jones was 59 years old and had served the citizens of Maryland for over 43 years.
