On the afternoon of Monday February 21, 2022, Firefighter Janet Holbrook responded with the Whiteford VFC mutual aid into Airville ,Pennsylvania for a structural fire. When the incident was over, Whiteford units returned to quarters and Firefighter Holbrook returned to her home. Sadly, during the early morning hours of Tuesday February 22, 2022, Firefighter Holbrook passed in her sleep. Firefighter/Secretary Janet Holbrook, along with her husband current fire company President Larry Holbrook, joined the Whiteford Volunteer Fire Company when it was organized in 1997. Over the years Janet served as a firefighter, EMS EVO, has held a variety of administrative positions, and was recently re-elected as the fire company’s Recording Secretary. She was a dedicated member who was highly respected by all.Firefighter/Secretary Janet H. Holbrook was 52 years old and had served the citizens of Maryland for over 25 years.
