MELTON, James A.

Lieutenant James A. Melton was on the scene battling a working house fire at 5440 Ammendale Road when he suffered a fatal heart attack. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Lieutenant James A. Melton had served as President of the Branchville VFD in 1951 and as Chief in 1955/56.
