THORNE SR, Paul H.
Past Chief Paul H. Thorne, Sr. was unloading supplies at the firehouse when he suddenly collapsed. He was placed in the medic unit where he lapsed into unconsciousness and was transported to Georgetown Hospital for emergency brain surgery. Sadly, Chief Thorne never regained consciousness and died on October 25, 2005. Paul H. Thorne, Sr. served as Chief of the Forestville Volunteer Fire Department for 28 consecutive years and was Top Responder for more than 25 years. He will long be remembered for his dedication to the fire service and his leadership skills, both on and off the fire scene. Chief Paul Herbert Thorne, Sr. was 71 years old and had served 57 years.
