March 25, 1945 While responding on a brush fire, Berwyn Heights Volunteer Fire Chief Clinton D. Walker, Sr., suddenly felt sick. The engine stopped at his house, helped him inside, and then continued on to the fire. When the engine returned from the call, they learned that Chief Walker had suffered a fatal heart attack. Chief Clinton D. Walker, Sr., was 58 years old and had served 16 years.
