MULLIKIN SR, William E.
August 13, 1967 Engineer William E. Mullikin, Sr was by himself driving Engine 69 to the fire company's annual picnic where he was to be on stand-by duty with other fire company members in attendance. Engineer Mullikin was headed towards Bruff's Island in Talbot County. He had brought the engine to a complete stop at an intersection. He then proceeded through the intersection and, as he was shifting gears, suffered a fatal heart attack as Engine 69 went off the road into a ditch. Engineer William E. Mullikin, Sr. was 56 years old and had served 22 years.
